Messi's New Deal At Man City Would See Him Earn?

According to Record Sport, Messi has agreed financial terms on a five-year contract worth a total of €700m (£623m).

The incredible deal would make the Argentine the highest-paid individual in the history of the sport.

It equates to £14,200 an hour, £341,000 per day, £2.4m every week and a whopping £10.4m per month.

Messi is set to spend three seasons at the Etihad before joining City Football Group's (CFG) Major League Soccer side New York City FC for two years.

It is also reported that Messi could be offered an equity stake in CFG as part of his package.

Manchester City Offers Lionel Messi A Bumper €750m - 5 Years Contract?

Manchester City are reported to have offered Lionel Messi close to €1m per week (£850,000) over the course of a five-year contract, which would see the six-time Ballon d'Or winner earn €500m (£445m) in total including bonuses.

That's not all, either. An extra €250m (£223m) bonus would be given to Messi at the three-year mark, taking the total valuation of the five-year contract to a cool €750m (£669m) on City's end.

SPORT claim that, in order to side-step Financial Fair Play rules, the €250m signing on bonus would be paid out on the third year to mark the move to New York, rather than up front.

PSG Set To Beat City To Messi After Neymar Asked To Bring Former Teammate?

Neymar has reportedly asked his club Paris Saint-Germain to sign Lionel Messi, with sporting director Leonardo making contact with the Argentine's representatives.

Messi and Neymar, who played together at the Camp Nou from 2013-2017, have also reportedly spoken earlier this week, as the Brazilian looks to persuade his club to sign Messi, with Manchester City also keen on the 33-year-old.

However, according to Sky Sports, the Ligue 1 champions - who lost in the Champions League final to Bayern Munich on Sunday - are yet to make a formal offer for Messi, despite Leonardo calling the player's representatives to ask about the specifics of Messi's contractual situation at Barcelona, details a separate report in Spain.

The report in Spanish outlet AS says that Leonardo wanted to discover what the clause is that binds Messi to Barcelona still - amid uncertainty surrounding his current deal - and also what salary and length of contract Messi is looking for.

Ex-PSG captain Thiago Silva joins Chelsea as a free agent?

During his eight years in the French capital, the Brazil international centre-back won seven Ligue 1 titles among the huge haul of 25 trophies he has collected with Les Rouge et Bleu.

Though he turns 36 in September, Thiago Silva was still in prime form in 2019-20, topping the division's 'passes completed' chart with 95.5% of his attempts reaching their target.

With 204 league games, including 200 starts for PSG, Thiago Silva last season went past former teammate Blaise Matuidi to move level with Dominique Rocheteau in 14th on the club's all-time appearance makers chart.

With 154 wins in those 204 league games, PSG have won 73.5% of their matches with Thiago Silva in the side compared to 66.3% without him.
